5 Things We Learned... Ben Wiseman

BEN WISEMAN, ILLUSTRATOR

NY, NY

Ben Wiseman creates dynamic illustrations where the composition - at first glance - looks deceptively simple, but is actually a brilliant way of layering shadow, silhouette, and color to quickly convey complex stories and ideas. Always playful, always clever, Ben’s art tackles consumer, political, and pop culture subjects in a tongue-in-cheek way, but also with a confidence that allows the inherent message to carry through. His work has been recognized by American Illustration, ADC Young Guns 7, and AIGA. Clients include Apple, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Nike, Penguin Random House, Samsung, This American Life, TIME, Vanity Fair, Warby Parker, WIRED, among others.

We recently worked with Ben to produce a large-scale, lenticular mural in a lobby in NYC. Translating his classic use of silhouettes into a lenticular movement was certainly a challenge, but his skill and determination (and a dedication to the oh-so-familiar ZOOM calls) helped us achieve a truly unique art experience. If you’re in NYC, go to 625 Broadway and walk the wall!

Here are 5 Things We Learned about Ben.

When are you happiest?

Right after seeing a great performance of dance or theater and heading to a bar or restaurant to discuss with friends.

Would you rather have a muse or be a muse?

Both!

Who do you admire?

Anyone not on social media.

What is important?
