I attended an inspiring talk by Babusi Nyoni earlier this year. He presented the design and development of Vosho Fo’sho, a dance app and digital health initiative that can actually diagnose Parkinson’s disease by assessing movement and posture. Based in Amsterdam, Babusi is a self-taught design strategist and innovator whose work has been featured in the Financial Times, TedxCapeTown, UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and at the Skoll Foundation. He works in the fields of emerging technology and big data innovation with a particular focus on developing sustainable solutions for the global South. With over 10 years of experience in the advertising, financial, and technology industries, he specializes in contributing the practical skills needed to drive meaningful innovation in areas where scale and impact are hindered by structural limitations.

What made you...you?
Growing up in Zimbabwe definitely endowed me with an ability to solve problems in ways that immediately set me apart from others later in life. I carry a lot of that with me.
When are you happiest?
I am happiest when I am at home, being surrounded by familiar things keeps a futurist like me well grounded. The light-filled space I get to call home is something I would typically look forward to coming back to at the end of a working day and is one that I now get to enjoy in perpetuity.
Would you rather have a muse or be a muse?
I have spent a lot of my life being inspired by the muses in my life, the most important being my wife and the second being my best friend. I think I'm to spend the rest of my years as someone's muse.

Kanye West
What is important?
Happiness is the most important feeling and emotion. I think everyone's goal should be to pursue it for self and other.
